TARGA California

Targa California is about people joining together with their Pre-1976 model cars*, and enjoying the automotive experience of back roads, special events, and like minded people that love their cars - all in the atmosphere of having fun with out the pressure of competition.

These events are not judged in any manner, other than some occasional fun gifts at the Farewell Meal. There is no set start or finish times and ALL makes of cars are encouraged to enter, as long as they meet the spirit of the event.

This event started seven years ago, inspired by another similar event that had a ten year run. Each year we choose different roads to add to our repertoire. Sometimes we visit a winery, private car collection,  plane museum, or even do some parade laps (controlled speeds of course) on well known race tracks.

For 2015, we continue with TWO events that you can experience.

Our Targa California takes place in the Spring, April 23-25 = SOLD OUT! Thank you for your support.

Our Mexican adventures continue with Targa Baja California November 5- 7. Entry forms will be available end of May

Targa Baja California starts with our get together at our HQ hotel November 4th in Alpine California. Located east of San Diego, this region offers some fantastic roads that are but a warm up for our journey south of the border.

This is the schedule we have planned for this exciting event:

November 4th Wednesday- early arrival and check in at HQ hotel in Alpine. Get your goodie bags, route books and enjoy the evening meeting old and new friends for the event

November 5th Thursday- entrants final check in and meeting. Embark on the Targa Baja California. Pass over the border into Tecate as a group, wave to the Mayor and other officials welcoming us to Mexico. Press conference and then a Federales escorted drive to La Rumirosa hillclimb. Controlled speed ascents, then caravan to Mexicali for lunch. On the return from Mexicali, we do a couple more controlled speed ascents before returning to Tecate for our first night's dinner and hotel

November 6th Friday- entrants take to the roads with Federales escort to Ensenada and then over the hills to San Felipe to spend the evening. Some fun activities are planned along the way

November 7th Saturday- San Felipe to Ensenada (escorted) with a special sea side lunch at a spectacular location. Park the cars outside our hotel in the guarded area for the Ensenada Car Show, and enjoy a stroll amongst the shops and dining in town.

Sunday November 8th. Escorted drive to the border crossing with preferred lane access. Makes crossing over to the USA a breeze.

Space to this event is limited to a total of 65 cars. Preference is given to the 27 entrants from last year's inaugural event first. Then we open it to others.

We will post here when registration is open for those spots. If you would like to get on the mailing list, please contact us

Entry to the events is through NASA, our sanctioning organization. When registration is open on the NASA site, we will post a direct link here.

* Have a post 76 model car? If it is a direct continuation , we will consider it. If you have something unique, send us some pics and we'll see
