Hello everyone,
There may be some confusion as to what type of event this is. We want to make it clear the event is for 1975 and older makes. Though we certainly love the newer cars, this particular event is for the classic and vintage models of yesteryear.
If you have a “continuation” car (one that looks like a 75 or older) then we welcome you to join us.
Thank you for understanding and if you need to, go get yourself an older car to participate with!
Driver’s waivers: Please download, sign, date & fax or mail in by Fri, Mar 20th. We will only issue route instructions to those who have signed & returned the Driver’s waiver. As this is a free event, our resources are limited and so we greatly appreciate you returning your waiver prior to the event.
Thanks again!
Dave
Re: ” continuatiuon” class. I own a one-off “BRIATA” (British Roadster inspired and thusly accessorized) which begun life as a 1996 Mazda Miata M edition. This car has been awarded numerous car show awards and the car’s custom Euro- inspired bodywork, interior Scottish piped hides, Mono Lita steering, and Dunlop wire wheels manufactured in India, and center exit “quad “exhausts all denote 1960’s European classic. I would hope my car would qualify for the Targa under the continutaion umbrella.. Will supply photos upn request..
Many thanks, Felix Daoust Ramona, California
Felix’s “BRIATA” sounds like a real beauty ad I’m sure it is a great car, but, personally, I’m not sure – pre ‘76 has a definite meaning. Might be better to hold true to that intent.
One question/observation – in the “photo gallery”, I see only Porsches. What gives? Is this going to be mainly a Porsche event and “oh, you other guys can come, too”, or will it have real, solid representation of other makes? If you have mainly Porsches signed up so far, how are you going to insure broader participation? Making it “just another Early Porsche Tour” would definitely detract from the appeal.
Additional question – is this going to be an annual event? Might not be able to make it this year and would like to know it will be available in 2010.
Felix will not be able to join us with his ” Briata” this year , as there is a huge Miata event happening. If you saw the car, you would see the definite Elan “heritage” it has
But to answer your questions regarding a lot of Porsches. So far, we have over 26 NON porsche cars entered with a total of 70. Of the P cars, about 1/2 dozen are 914s, and the rest are 911’s.
With my daily business repairing and restoring Porsches, we have had a lot of followers from past events enjoying the fun. We have spread the word on other sites where ever possible, but it has not always been easy posting.
We appreciate any support in contacting other NON porsche enthusiasts to let them know about this great event
We do look forward to this being an annual party and will continue having it as long as entrants behave responsibly and bring a fun attitude.
Thanks!
What time are you taking off friday AM? I may have to meet up then.
A few of the Fiat’s in the SoCal Fiat group that would likely attend are later models, but almost indistinguishable from a 1975 Fiat Spider. Should I encourage them to attend? It would likely bring our numbers up from 3-4 cars to 6-7.
I’m still on the fence about coming. I’m moving the end of this month.. so…
yeah, If I get my stuff moved in time, I’ll be there!

Everybody needs to sleep. This is a fact that cannot be contested. Sleep slows the body down, putting every major component of the body into a more relaxed state. This is also acknowledged as a medical fact. People dream while they’re asleep and, in theory, animals may also experience dream-like scenarios. Despite the fact that most people can’t remember them, this too can be confirmed medically. However, aside from all of the above listed effects (and side effects), what exactly does sleeping do for a person? That is slightly less certainly known, which is probably the reason so many institutions and research programs are delving deep into the scientific facts behind sleep.
The natural growth hormones that the body needs to develop are produced in large quantities during sleep. This has often been seen as the explanation for why people who don’t sleep too much often end up being slightly shorter than their peers. These hormones are produced at their peak during puberty and tend to cease production afterwards. People are still unsure why the body produces more of it during sleep. There are some that theorize that this is merely a part of the side effects of sleep, of sorts, arguing that the body is too busy coordinating itself to really produce growth hormones. However, this assumption is rather arguable because the body is still coordinating the same systems during sleeping hours as it is during the waking hours.
